Made with 1000 paper “Bean” shapes individually cut, placed and glued on paper As much as this piece was about creating a new layout / vocabulary with the 35 shaped (the so called “Beans), developed by Clotilde for her research, it was also made with a performative approach. The only know factor was the number of shaped that were going yo be glued and their colours… the outcome, how far it would extend or the size of it, evolved organically. The shpaes fell into place along the making process until there was onlu that one little space left, for that one little final “Bean” (the n°1000). This whole process gave life to a substantial piece, that reminds us of textile craft through its size, the duration of creation and it’s preciousness.
